about me

Me.

Jolena Dawn.

That’s my name anyway, but I would like to introduce you to so much more! I am a happily married wife to my hunk-of-a-husband Andy. We are proud to say we’ve been married for 11 years now, and met over 16 years ago. We have 3 beautiful boys: Kinnick 10, Mason 7, and Dudley 5 months. We live in small-town Iowa and we really enjoy it. Though we have dreams to grow, and find an acreage, we adore our tiny home within our little town.

I began this blog, partly, so that you can get to know me a little better than you think you do! And maybe those that do will be a bit surprised. Or not.. And for those who have no idea who I am, well.. you will soon enough if you stick around! I also hope, that as you get to know me you will find a bit of yourself, too. I hope you find that we are not all that different after all.

I’m hoping that out of this blog, you’ll see a very vulnerable and honest me: Wife, Mom, Daughter, Sister.. not to mention a perfectionist who constantly fails, along with basic content you’d expect to find. Things like recipes, music, recent event commentary, travel etc. I also want to be able to provide you as the reader/viewer a smile, hope in a time of need, and a reassurance to you as a reader that you aren’t alone in your daily struggles and your celebrations. This life is tough and we need one another.

I’ll also dig into my faith here. I love Jesus. I’m not ashamed of The Gospel and you will hear that loud and clear on my page. I hope it brings you inspiration, and a renewed sense of hope to know that there is a God that loves you so much, that he sent His one and only Son to take your place. The same God loves me even when I suck at life as a Christian, Wife, Mom, Friend, family member and all the other hats I wear. Our God is constant, and I’m so grateful for that. He’s called me to bless and love others, and I’m going to do that here.

I can’t wait to see what God has in store; whether He’s renewing dusty dreams or calling me to sit in His grace. I just can’t wait.

All my love with a touch of mustard,
Jo
